Well hello...

...she takes, just like a woman...

Dear Diary: Heather told me she teaches people "real life." She said, "real life sucks losers dry. You want to fuck with the eagles, you have to learn to fly." I said, "so, you teach people how to spread their wings and fly?" She said, "yes." I said, "you're beautiful!"

“It's a sad thing not to have friends, but it is even sadder not to have enemies.” -- Che Guevara

"Through literacy you can begin to see the universe. Through music you can reach anybody. Between the two there is you, unstoppable."
- Grace Slick

I'm not interested in playing BINGO, thanks

"[The President] should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole.
Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile.
To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

-- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some 50 miles of concrete highway. We pay for a single fighter with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people. This, I repeat, is the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."
Five Star General and Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, April 16, 1953

"This is no simple reform. It really is a revolution. Sex and race because they are easy and visible differences have been the primary ways of organizing human beings into superior and inferior groups and into the cheap labour in which this system still depends. We are talking about a society in which there will be no roles other than those chosen or those earned. We are really talking about humanism."
--Gloria Steinem

“Radical simply means "grasping things at the root."
--Angela Y. Davis

"Resistance to tyranny is man's highest ideal."
--Emma Goldman

"No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her body."
--Margaret Sanger

“If you tremble indignation at every injustice then you are a comrade of mine.”
--Che Guevara

"If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together."
--Aboriginal activists group, Queensland, 1970s

...but she breaks, just like a little girl...

If you really want to know about me, like as a real life person and stuff, check it out here. If we're already friends and you need to be brought up to speed, this entry is a much more detailed "about me."

If you want to be my friend, probably all you have to do is ask. I very rarely turn people down. If you don't want to be my friend, take it here or go home. Either way, it's cool with me.

I am feminist, anti-racist, glbt positive, pro-civil liberities, anti-prohibition, anti-capitalist, socialist, pretty much generally anti-oppression and a professional bleeding heart. I do my best to challenge my own privilege and be conscious of the space I take up and generally be the best person I can be, but sometimes I fuck up and I'm willing to own that. Call me out, I welcome it.

Just show me a moment that is mine
Its beauty blinding and unsurpassed
Make me forget every moment that went by
And left me so half-hearted
Cuz i felt it so half-assed
-ani

Don't be so damn benign
and don't waste my fucking time.
